During the winter season of 2016 in the southern hemisphere, I had the privilege of working alongside Olympic and world-class alpine athletes who were undergoing high-intensity training sessions. My primary role during this season was to serve as a videographer, tasked with capturing training and test runs for analytical purposes. However, I also took advantage of the time between runs to document the day-to-day experiences on the mountain from my own perspective. It was an incredible opportunity to witness firsthand the dedication and skill of these exceptional athletes, whilst working in one of the most stunning parts of the World, the Southern Alps of New Zealand, Aotearoa.
